Mexi Indian style Daliya

An extremely versatile ingredient dalia can prove to be a delicious alternative, can be easily combined with dals, milk, veggies.

This dish is rich in complex carbs, proteins, fibre, so takes long to digest, suppresses hunger pangs, boosts metabolism.

Also since the mention of Daliya, at times make people feel like a boring 😟 dish…. I tried to give it this twist.. Also you can try multigrain daliya combined with pulse mix and veggies.
Also thia style using coconut milk tastes awesome.

This is extremely great dish for weight watchers, diabetics, hypertensive, cholesterol issues, gastric problems like gas, acidity, constipation.

It is a simple dish can be prepared in a jiffy…

Ingredients

1 cup Broken Wheat / Daliya / Ghav Na Fada / multi grain daliya
1/2 cup moong dal (yellow or green)
1 cup thinly sliced red cabbage
1 cup Chopped Bell pepper / Capsicum (I used red and green)
1 cup grated carrots
1/2 cup French beans chopped
1/2 cup Onion, Chopped
1/2 cup boiled sweet corn
1 tsp Garlic grated
1 tsp Ginger grated
1 tsp Cumin seeds
1 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Chilli garlic sauce
1 tsp Garam masala
2 tsp Lemon juice
1tbsp oregano chilli flakes
3 cups Water
Salt to taste

Instructions
Roast Broken wheat / Daliya till light brown

In a pressure cooker add roasted daliya, soaked moong dal, water, cook for 3 to 4 whistles. Switch off the flame. Let it cool, Open and give a gentle stir with fork.

Heat oil in a Wok, add cumin seeds, ginger and garlic. Saute for few seconds.

Now add all the chopped vegetables, salt, Garam masala powder. Stir well, cook for 5 -10 minutes add cooked daliya, add chilli garlic sauce.

Now add chopped cilantro, Oregon chilli flakes and lemon juice. Give it a gentle mix.

Vegetable Daliya is ready. Serve it with Cucumber Raita, Boondi Raita or Plain curd/yogurt.
