What’s your favourite wild animal? This year, World Environment Day, organized on 5 June by the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP), draws attention to the illegal trade of wildlife products that are threatening the Earth’s biodiversity and v us of our natural heritage.
Elephants, rhinos, gorillas and sea turtles are just some of the species that are threatened if we don’t take action to stop illegal killing and smuggling.
ISO believes in protecting our environment and ensuring the sustainability of our planet’s precious resources, while facilitating legal trade and economic development. Together with its members and partners, including UNEP, we have developed standards to help organizations minimize their impact on the environment and behave in a way that is sustainable and socially responsible… with the ultimate goal of protecting the world’s biodiversity.
On World Environment Day this year, UNEP is calling everyone to celebrate species under threat and take action to safeguard them for future generations.
