What they contain: A powerful antioxidant called lycopene and anthocyanins. Also vitamins A and C.

Why you should eat more: Lycopene can protect your skin from sun damage and cuts your risk of heart disease and certain forms of cancer. Some studies show it eases asthma. They also greatly benefits the circulatory system by helping build healthy cell walls. This improves blood pressure, organ function, and circulation.

Examples of red foods include tomatoes, watermelon, beets, and red bell peppers.
Fruits like pomegranate,strawberries, raspberries, cranberries and cherries.

Try: Sipping soup or juice made with tomato, beet,watermelon. Add pomegranate to salads, poha, upma or cornflakes, oats.

Here is how I experimented, I designated one week as red week and tried dishes pertaining to the same. What I tried in this picture is carrot tomato soup, carrot pickle, a sabzi made of beet, carrot, tomato last but the best red pattice made from carrot, beet….
